Virginia Schools compete in NASP National Tourney

The 2009 National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) National Tournament was held on May 8-9th in Louisville, Kentucky.

A new world record was set for the Largest Archery Tournament ever with 4565 youth competing! The Virginia State Chapter proudly helped sponsor three winning teams from the Virginia State NASP Tournament to compete in this National tournament.

The Virginia State Chapter helped sponsor teams from Hidden Valley High School from Roanoke, Warwick High School from Newport News, and Northside Middle School from Roanoke to participate in the National Tournament. All of the youth archers involved had a great time!

In a thank you letter from Hidden Valley High School Archery Coach, Linda Sink-Morris stated: "Many of our kids do not participate in any other sports. Archery is where they have found success, and a place in our school community. We all thank you and your organization for sponsoring us".
