Another successful Wheelin' Sportsmen weekend!
Hunters with disabilities from all over Virginia enjoyed another successful weekend, as NWTF Chapters hosted four deer hunts this past weekend, Nov. 20-21. Bruce O'Rourke, of Culpeper, harvested this monster 9 pointer at the Piedmont Area Chapter Cedar Springs Farm Wheelin' Sportsmen hunt.
Just before dark, this buck, and another bigger buck, appeared chasing a doe. They disappeared and Bruce thought he'd missed the opportunity of a lifetime. Minutes later, this buck stepped back out and Bruce made his shot count. With an almost 20" inside spread, this 9 pointer, with 2-3 kickers, is a trophy in anyone's book.

Earlier that morning, Michael Chenail of Palmyra, gave this nice 8 pointer a ride on the back of the farm truck. Five other deer were taken on this hunt, and I'm certain it will be one of our most popular hunts next year.
Congrats to all of the hunters, and to all of the Chapter volunteers for making this great event possible. A special thank you also goes out to the Lamb Family and Cedar Springs Farm of Madison County for the generosity in welcoming our hunters onto their property.
