Predator Management Workshops The State Chapter has partnered with the Va. Waterfowler's Asso., Va. Trappers Asso. and DGIF to host four Predator Management Workshops at four different locations in northern and eastern Virginia. All workshops are open to the public and are free of charge.
Tink Smith Passes Peacefully at 101 By David Coffman: I received a call late Sunday evening from Tink’s daughter Judy, that my dearest Uncle Tink had passed away peacefully Sunday morning, 10 days after his 101st birthday.   Having lived with Judy at her home in Berkley Springs the past several years,  due to declining health they had admitted him to the Veterans Adm. Hospital in Martinsburg in mid-March.
JAKES enjoy VA Youth Day! On Saturday, April 7th, Virginia NWTF chapter volunteers throughout the state took young JAKES members out to enjoy our 3rd Annual Virginia JAKES Turkey Hunt.
Va. Bear, Deer, Turkey Harvest Data Announced Richmond, VA – Wildlife biologists with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) have compiled preliminary figures for deer, turkey, and bear harvests for the 2011-2012 fall/winter hunting seasons. The white-tailed deer harvest was slightly up from last year while the turkey harvest increased significantly.
